Forbidden nicknames
Warn, then kick, players whose nickname contains a forbidden word or breaks your rules.
How it works
A player whose nickname is refused gets a private warning, then is kicked after the delay (2 minutes by default) if they have not changed it. A word marked “severe” kicks right away, without a warning.
The player sees which rule they break (“forbidden word”, “too long”…), never the forbidden word itself: nobody learns how to get around the list. The panel does show the word found.
Forbidden words
Your list: Denhold imposes none, each community picks its own words. Each word has a mode:
- whole word: “ass” does not catch “Assassin” (the safest);
- contains: the word stuck to other letters, “xXwordXx”;
- starts with: fake staff tags, “[STAFF]”.
Before comparing, the nickname is normalized: capitals, accents, leetspeak (N4Z1), separated (n.a.z.i) or repeated (naaazi) letters, Cyrillic or Greek letters disguised as Latin.
Forbidden alphabets
You can refuse nicknames written in other alphabets: Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian scripts, Armenian, Georgian. A single letter of the alphabet is enough. The Latin alphabet, accents included, is always allowed. The player is warned, then kicked if they keep the nickname.
Format rules
Each one is optional:
- minimum and maximum length;
- a minimum number of readable letters or digits;
- a maximum share of symbols and emoji (“Zalgo” nicknames included).
Safeguards
- players already connected when the feature starts are only warned;
- your staff and the exemption list are never targeted;
- simulation mode is on when created, and the panel has a tester: type a nickname, it tells you whether it passes and why;
- a player kicked three times in 24 hours is flagged, so the staff can decide on a ban.
