50v50 mode

Close a faction: players who join it are moved to another team.

How it works

You close a faction (blue by default). A player who joins it is moved to the least populated open faction, respawns in their new team and gets a private message explaining why. The setting applies to every match, whatever the rotation.

Gap between the two teams

With the game’s balancing turned off, Denhold keeps the two teams close itself: beyond the set gap (3 players by default, 0 for no limit), a player who joins the team that is too far ahead is sent to the other one, with a message explaining why. A player already settled in their team is never moved, even if the gap grows as others leave.

Safeguards

  • your staff and the exemption list may stay in the closed faction;
  • nothing happens if the current map does not have two other factions;
  • the game’s team balancing (“Lock overpopulated teams”) is turned off on activation: against an empty faction, it would block the other two. It stays locked in the game configuration while 50v50 is on;
  • a crowd arriving at once is spread between both teams, a few players at a time;
  • a player who keeps coming back to the closed faction (three times in 10 minutes) is left alone for 10 minutes, and the panel says so;
  • simulation mode is on when created.

Set it up

“50v50 mode” block of the server’s Game screen. The message can be customized with {player} (nickname) and {faction} (new faction).
